2009-06-11: Summer 2009

It's been a while since you heard from us now. As some of you know we have started to rehearse new songs for our upcoming second album, that we will start record as soon as we feel ready to make the best album ever. We first brought about 20 songs to the rehearsal, skipped two of them that didn't got all 12 tumbs up (2 from each band member), and are working towards the goal of recording about 12 or 14 of these in the end.

We are all convinced it's the best songs we've ever made and we can't wait for you to hear it. So since we are concentrating on this next album and some other stuff (see first headline below!) we won't be playing so much live this summer, but there are a few listed below:

Mats is becoming a father
Oh yes, sometime around the 10th of July, Mats and his girlfriend Cissi is expecting their first child! Hopefully she will be able to sqeeze it out before - or hold herself until after - the 4th of July when we have
our long awaited:

Hellsingland Underground + Anders F Rönnblom summer show at Rosehills, Saturday, 4th of july:
Last summer's gig at that beautiful wooden stage with a view over the church and the lake here in Ljusdal was one of the absolute high points of 2008. This time, our friend Anders F Rönnblom and his band will also perform. We can't wait! This is also going to be the first chance for you to hear some brand new songs from our upcoming album! We haven't decided yet how many new ones we will play, but there will be at least a couple of them... Don't miss this!

Hellsingland Underground + Bonafide - mini tour in august:
On Friday the 7th of August we are playing at Wasteland in Gävle, and on Saturday, 8th of August we are playing at RockNight (which is Charlie's own club here in Ljusdal!) together with Malmoe-based
Bonafide! We are also looking for the right venue in the Stockholm area for a gig on Thursday the 6th of August. If you want to book us, or know some place that would be interested, don't hesitate to

Hellsingland Underground in Folkets park, Ljusdal, 14th of august:
Mittia-mässan is Sweden's biggest fair for farmers and wood workers, with thousands of visitors every year. This year they have a broad program of artists performing such as Jennifer Brown, Barbados,
Lady B Goode AND Hellsingland Underground. It is also for the first time open for the public. I haven't played in Folkets Park since I was a teenager, in my first band as a drummer, so I'm really looking
forward to this one.


Other stuff in short:

* Our debut album "Hellsingland Underground" have soon sold over 3000 copies - not bad these days! People are still discovering it, magazines are still giving it top reviews, and radio stations are still playing it!

* "Northern Country Boy" was played last Sunday on americas biggest satellite radio station Sirius Radio, on Per Gessle's (from Roxette) show Nordic Rox!
