2009-03-16: Download A "New" Song For Free...

Hello there,
Hope that everyone is doing ok, and that this damn winter will end soon. Today I feel like I've been attending a five day festival or something after being alone with my 2 crazy kids for four days when Lisa was visiting her sister in Norrköping... I feel more hungover than I do after a few days on the road with Hellsingland actually... Even though I haven't even been drinking... that much.

Since there will be quite some time until we have a new record out, we thought we would give you a little something while waiting. The song is called "Making Music Hurts Too Much" and has a little interesting history around it.

This is a song that we recorded during the first session of making our debut album, and was meant to end up on the album, but when we heard it together with the other songs we just thought that it didn't quite fit in with the rest.

It was also the first song I ever wrote in years. If you have read our biography, you know that I, for quite some time, thought I was through with this whole "being in a band thing". But as they say, you can take a monkey out of the jungle, but you can never take the jungle out of the monkey, I guess...

I wrote this just as our daughter Juni had been born, and me and Lisa had just moved in to our summerhouse by the river in the summer of 2006.

The inspiration for this song was a conversation I had with my younger brother Daniel (you'll find him in our top friends here, he call himself Grinchberg). I asked him why he doesn't make any music, you know, put out an album or start a band or something, since he got all this talent. And he just said "Making music hurts too much, I always dig so deep within myself that I just end up feeling miserable."

Some people really like this song, and I think it's great too, I just didn't think it really fitted in with the rest of the album. It would be great to hear your opinion about it here!
