2009-01-16: The Past Year And The Coming One...
Hello there, and a late happy new year... I haven't been near any computer over the holidays here, so this is my firs entrance here in quite a while.
Last new years eve a year ago, I remember how I wrote about how fantastic 2007 had been in all kinds of ways, both personally and for this band. How we had connected with people all around the world through our music and stuff like that. And we hadn't even released the album back then.
The album came out on the 8th of March to top reviews almost everywhere. Here's a poster that Sound Pollution are printing up to send out to recordstores here in Sweden.
In the 13th of March we had our releaseparty here at Stadt in Ljusdal, which was also our first ever gig here, were we played for hundreds of people. At the last encore (Northern Country Boy) I even stagedived for the first time in my life and the audience carried me on their arms for the last chorus of the song. It was magic. The following week we played in Söderhamn, Hudiksvall, Stockholm (Tantogården) and Strängnäs too. The gig at Somebody Please Help Me at Tantogården was a really memorable one too. It was our first gig in Stockholm ever but the place was packed with people that already seemed to know the lyrics to all our songs. People had travelled from all over for that show. One guy called Bolle even came all the way from Germany just to see us. We were so happy for that so we decided to bring him with us for the whole tour, since he told us before that he would show up a few days in advance.
Even though we released the album a little late to catch the festival train, we managed to play a couple of them anyway. Rock The Mountain in Söderhamn which just rained away, Gävle Cityfest with our biggest audience and stage so far and then the Folk & Rock Festival in Segmon. Plus some other spread out gigs every here and there.
Then in October we were supposed to once again play at the club Somebody Please Help Me, now located on Mosebacke in Stockholm. We were all really excited to play Stockholm again, last time we played was at Nicke Borg's club Stockholm Syndrome in May. So I took the train down to Stockholm, had my sushi and beer by the Central Station when I got the call from Mats that Peter was at the hospital with some serious heart problems. We were devastated and really nervous of the outcome of it. So we just had to cancel and go home again.
Fortunatelly he got a lot better after surgery and medication, and was able to play at the opening on the Bandy World Cup just a few weeks later, where we performed our brand new and specially written song "Bad, Mean, Yellow & Green" with huge fireworks and stuff. It felt almost like a celebration of life itself.

Just a couple of weeks after that Peter and his wife Cecilia had their first child together, a beautiful baby daughter called Elvira. So it was a happy ending to all these turbulence you could say.
We have already started working on new material for the next HU album, that we hopefully will start recording sometime this spring.
Have a fantastic 2009 everybody and we hope to see you on a show somewhere.
